Genome Editing with CRISPR-Cas9

This cluster introduces learners to the powerful tool of gene editing called CRISPR-Cas9. In an application of this revolutionary technique, students generate immune cells that are resistant to HIV infection. A series of experiments teach the learner guide RNA design, sequence analysis of edited cells, determining protein expression by Western blot, and fluorescence microscopy.
