Motivated Reasoning as a Source of Cognitive Bias
A lab project reveals how motivated reasoning, driven by desires, distorts evidence evaluation and leads to cognitive biases. We can learn to recognize and mitigate these biases by noticing our emotions, seeking diverse perspectives, and staying objective through breaks and reflection.
