Boiling Fluids Behave Quite Differently in Space

The boiling process is really different in space, since the vapor phase of a boiling liquid does not rise via buoyancy. In the video, liquid is heated to boiling point in 1-g, generating vapor bubbles that rise (left). Liquid is heated to boiling point in microgravity, which occurs in the absence of natural convection or buoyant flows (right).
