This case study explains how you can use DNA databases to learn more about variations in DNA called single nucleotide polymorphisms or SNPs (pronounced "snips"). You will learn how to use SNPedia, dbSNP, and Ensembl to look for information about variations in the gene TAS2R38, which is associated with the ability to taste PTC and other bitter flavors.
