Types of Cell Signaling
Cells communicate with each other through a process called cell signaling, which enables them to detect and respond to environmental cues via extracellular signaling molecules. These signals may act on the same cell that produced them (autocrine signaling), on nearby cells (paracrine signaling), or on distant cells through the bloodstream (endocrine signaling).
