In March 2020, scientists identified Wuhan, China as the city of COVID-19’s origin. Unfortunately, this information led to a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination. In this text, we discuss how public health crises can lead to the spread of racist messaging in societies. We’ll also examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Asian communities in the US.
