Rather than understand race as a biological factor that influences health, clinicians who practice race-conscious medicine recognize the influence of social, environmental, and political factors—especially on the health of patients from racially marginalized communities. In this video, we explore the practice of race-conscious medicine and discuss why it’s a more equitable alternative to racialized medicine.
