Homeostasis and Feedback Loops

This AP® Biology content explores how organisms use feedback mechanisms to regulate internal processes and respond to environmental changes. Learners are introduced to both positive and negative feedback mechanisms and examine examples of each. They will discover how negative feedback helps maintain homeostasis by returning systems to a set point, while positive feedback amplifies responses and drives processes further from equilibrium.
