Environmental Effects on Phenotype

This AP® Biology content explores how environmental factors influence gene expression and contribute to phenotypic diversity. In this pathway, learners will investigate the concept of phenotypic plasticity, where individuals with the same genotype can exhibit different phenotypes under varying environmental conditions. Learners will examine examples of how light, temperature, nutrition, stress or other environmental cues can alter gene expression, leading to observable changes in traits.
