Not only did Henrietta Lacks’s cell line contribute greatly to advancements in science and medicine, but her story has sparked activism to develop more ethical and equitable approaches to medical research. In this text, we outline the efforts of Henrietta Lacks’s family to address some of the injustices she experienced, as well as their work to promote equity in medical research.
