How Can We Begin to Understand Race?

What is race, really? In this pathway, you’ll explore the myth of biological race in humans, how it developed, and the complex social meanings that the term “race” holds. You’ll also examine how the myth of biological race in humans has been used throughout history to justify the exploitation and enslavement of certain groups of people, and the very real social consequences this history still has today.  This pathway forms part of the Racism as a Public Health Crisis cluster. See our equity pledge as part of this initiative. Please note: This pathway contains sensitive content related to racial violence and discrimination.
